Creative Color Challenge – red and green

Yes, it is the last creative color challenge for 2012!  Wow – time flies when you’re playing with your crayons!

For December, Louise chose “festive red and green” as our color challenge.  Her inspiration was her poinsettia plant, which was completely fitting for the Christmas season.  In color theory, red and green are complements of each other – meaning they sit directly across from each other on the color wheel.  I think festive is the key word though, they are such joyous natural colors.  Plus, they are two of my favorites.

I made a bead woven bracelet using white as the base, with red and green as the pop of color.  It is a stitch called “Venetian spiral”.  This stitch makes a nice dimensional piece, but I have to admit there are other spiral stitches that I prefer to work with.

I can hardly believe that a whole year of color challenges has passed.  Happily, Louise has decided to continue with the creative color challenge in 2013.  I’m very glad about that.  If you enjoy color and would like to push yourself (a little) I recommend joining us with these fun challenges.

All the best, and Happy New Year’s eve!

Our Christmas also… Continue Reading
