Snow day!

For the first time in nearly 3 years of school I had to take a snow day today.

The drive home last night in the beginning of the snow storm was HAIRY.  I didn’t necessarily feel like the road was slippery (although it probably was), the real problem was not being able to see where I was going.  I don’t like that.  So, when I got up this morning and saw that it had been snowing all night I checked the highway cameras – and it didn’t look any better than last night.  I decided not to take my life in my hands.

The downside to being at home is that a lot of shoveling is involved.  I was able to get most of the driveway done in an hour, but when Scott gets home we’ll have to do the rest.  We may have to break down and buy a snowblower.

Less than a week ago we had this much snow:

Here is the dainty snow cap on the cactus.

Now, we have this much snow:

Now the cactus has quite the blanket of snow on it.

Hope you are enjoying your weather – even if it includes snow!

Drive safely,
