Spring is trying to “spring” – April’s list for the first Tuesday

We’re up to our eyes in alligator’s with the end of term preparations for Grad Show.  I will post the details later in the week.

In the meantime, my list for this Tuesday is a pictoral one, showing what is happening in the garden.  Snow or no snow, the flowers have their own agenda!

close up of snowdrops
The snowdrops are up. They came up a little later this year, but have been up for a couple of weeks now.
white and purple crocuses
These were a nice surprise! Because of my school schedule and the crazy weather, I hadn't been out before I wanted to take pictures so I was happy to see these.
crocuses in the rose bush
This is some inventive planting by squirrels. I'm just happy they didn't eat them.
daffodils with bearberry
These daffodils are on a south facing slope, so are earlier than some around here. They are in the bearberry which sure has beautiful color!
new poppy leaves
The poppies are coming up!
daylily sprouts
The main daylily bed. When I look at it now, it's hard to believe how dense it will be by August.

That’s it for now!  Hopefully your garden is sprouting!!  It’s nice to see some color – other than white or brown – again.

Stay tuned for updates about the grad show!

Staying chained to the grindstone,

Valerie
