First snow

We awoke this morning to about 4 inches of snow.  I know, it’s not a lot in the grand scheme of winter, but the first substantial snow is always a shocker!  Before I started shoveling, I took some snow snaps.

The crazy snow caps on these Echinacea were what gave me the idea to get the camera out!

The Crocomisia seedheads had a nice layer of snow too!

Yes, I was late getting the bird bath heater out! It took me at least 1/2 hour to melt the ice for the birds.

One of the new Rhododendrons with a nice dusting of snow.

The Echinacea at the side of the house had even bigger hats, and they even stayed on when the seedheads bent over!!

Hoppy thought it would be fun to go out in the snow. The problem (for him) is he doesn't like it when it comes up too high on his legs!! I didn't have to worry about him running away....

Hope you are enjoying some of the “winter wonderland” sights today!
