Inner beauty

I was at Point Pelee/Leamington area this weekend, for the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) annual general meeting.  Pelee is very different in the fall, but we were fortunate to have fantastic weather and I had fun reconnecting with old friends!

However, there wasn’t really much in the way of birds so it was an opportunity to slow down and look closely at, well, everything!  Instead of birds I found feathers which I always find so inspiring and they are something I like to have around me.  Perhaps not surprisingly, I have a collection!  They really are so perfect and beautiful.

Close to the tip of Point Pelee the whiter than white breast feathers of a gull.

For my collection…..

A fantastic Wild Turkey feather. This is one that would lay close to the body under the wing.

Imagine being able to capture that fluffiness in metal – I’m not sure it is possible, but it sure is fun to contemplate!

What have you seen lately that is inspiring you?

Valerie
