Woohoo, I’m in this show! Or should it be – Yikes, I’m in this show and it’s only 3.5 weeks away!!
Anyway, I’ve been working away to prepare for this show. It’s my first two day show, and it seems there is lots to do – not just make pretty jewellery either! Last night we set up my new tent – it’s a beauty! Tonight I have to figure out what format the information needs to be in for a sign to be made. Fun, eh!!
I have been slipping some jewellery making into the mix though. Here are a few pieces that will be coming with me to Burlington:

One of the "Openings" series of enamels that I have been working on for this show - fantastic chartruese swirl matched up with serpentine.

Sterling silver ring with gold leaf and BC jade

So cute!! A little pop of color with enamel earrings.

Black sands tidal pool necklace.
Hope you are well, and planning to come to the show!! Mark it in your calendars!

Last week we took a short trip to Point Pelee (National Park) and Rondeau (Provincial Park). In the past, before school, I used to go to Pelee/Rondeau for a week every May to revel in the migrating birds! Then, school got in the way; and this year we’re trying to be thrifty because of all…

As you know, my garden was my creative outlet for many years (and still is). Now it is mature enough that I can step outside the door and find inspiration almost all year. I took the camera outside yesterday, after 3.5 hours of uninspiring weeding, to revel in some color and form! I hope this…

MUSTARD YELLOW!!! Really….?? April’s creative color challenge was mustard yellow. Once again Louise used a photo from her travels “down under” to inspire the color challenge. Aside from the fact I was feeling too busy – mostly with show prep – to clear a day to play with my enamels, I have to say nothing…

This week seems to have gone in a flash! I’ve been chained to the desk and bench working away. I’m trying to learn how to build my website – which is hard because I have a VERY LOW tolerance for boring work!! I am determined though – so, if you see any differences here that’s…

Yes, you slave drivers…. I have been working away….. Last week I made a call to my friend, Bonnie – my expert resource in all things felt (and many other things!). I told you I was going to be mixing the media up! The problem was – I didn’t know anything about felt. Is it…

As I mentioned we went to the Zilberschmuck “Superstitions” show opening – it was fun! There was quite a crush of people and a good energy in the gallery! Unfortunately, Scott didn’t get a photo of my other friend and former classmate – Amanda Henderson, who had two pieces in the show. Instead, here are…

In case you didn’t notice me blathering all over facebook (won’t you be my friend?) I made a necklace in response to a call for entry that the gallery “Zilberschmuck“, had in the fall. My necklace is based on the superstition of knocking on wood, which was the common one used in my family. The…

Well, I got right down to it this weekend. I really felt like I have to, since relatively speaking the sewing will be the easy part. The beading will be the time consuming part! Anyway, I broke out the old girl (and no, I don’t mean me…) I put together the background, and let…

Well, well, well… I’m finally over the surprise, so I can write about it now. Around the beginning of March, I heard about a call for entry that the Region of Niagara had put out for textile and/or mixed media artists. Normally I wouldn’t pay too much attention, but this call specifically included beaders! So,…
